Description
OZ.1i is L.A.B. Golf’s first solid-body mid-mallet putter in half-moon form with an insert. The putter is the result of a close collaboration with professional golfer Adam Scott and combines classic putter shapes with design inspiration from high-performance sports cars. The end result is a modern and balanced silhouette, engineered to deliver tour performance in style.
Like the other L.A.B. models, the OZ.1i is 100% Lie Angle Balanced, providing a natural square putting stroke without having to compensate with your wrists. It rolls the ball straight, no matter where you hit on the blade – with the same stability and forgiveness as DF3 and MEZZ.1 MAX.
OZ.1i gives you the opportunity to choose a face. Insert versions give a more solid feel at impact – perfect for golfers with specific sound & feel preferences. For a softer feel at impact, you have the usual OZ1 model instead.
The solid club head now with insert is milled from a single piece of aluminium and lacks the typical “teeth” or cut-outs from other mallet putters – for a cleaner, more compact look at address. The sound and feel have been fine-tuned to appeal to most people.
The putter comes with a standard 69° lie angle and has a 2° shaft lean for a natural forward leaning setup. The matching Press grip leans back, placing the hands straight across the face for consistent launch.
OZ.1i is optimal for players looking for maximum stability and tour feel.
Shaft lean, By having an already built-in shaft lean in the putter, it is easier to hit the ball. When you hit the ball during putting, the ball starts rolling forward earlier, leading to more consistent distance control out on the greens.
Select insert on face, The Oz.1i insert is made of stainless steel, which gives higher ball speed from the blade and a more solid feel. This can help you with distance control if you have a tendency to leave putts short in their line. If you prefer a softer feel and the experience of being able to really hit the ball, you should instead choose the model without insert.
Press grip, The L.A.B Golf patented Press Grip is available in different versions, with 1.5, 2 and 3 degree built-in lean. This is to create a natural setup when using a putter with shaft lean. This way, you can address the ball in a natural way, despite the built-in shaft lean.
Lie Angle Balanced, L.A.B Golf stands for “Lie Angle Balanced”, and this is where the Zero Torque concept originated. The idea behind L.A.B was to create a putter that stays square throughout your putting stroke. The centre of gravity of the putter is balanced in a way that puts it precisely in the middle of the head, no matter how you hold it.
Hand-built and balanced, All L.A.B Golf models are hand-built with the highest precision in their own factories. Each putter passes between 5 and 10 people before being delivered to the customer. They are well known for their careful quality control, both in terms of balance and cosmetics on all models.
