Sporty, modern and playful. With materials adapted to meet the modern golfer's needs. Bogeys & Birdies is the brand that makes golf both more stylish and more fun – with a price point to suit all budgets.
There was a time when golf was all about stroke play and knitted sweaters. In the clubhouse, the large handicap board on the wall got all the attention, and showed everyone who was the best player of the club, and thus the greatest authority, but it also told everyone about who didn’t quite measure up or fit in. Stableford was rare and scramble was unheard of. Bags were carried, the electric trolley hadn’t been invented, and a golf cart was a strange invention ferrying around Americans who were too lazy to walk. Golf was simply a very serious endeavour, an activity with outlines that were preferably drawn in black and white instead of full colour. But that time is long gone. Now “we” own the game, and “we” in this case are people from all social classes, genders and age categories. We play whatever game we want, and don’t care about any standards. Some are still doing everything they can to reach their dream handicap or win the club championship, while others love to drive a golf cart, play a relaxed team match with friends and then have a beer in the clubhouse afterwards. We travel to the courses of our dreams, like [Falsterbo] or [Visby], but we don’t mind playing a quick 9 at the local muni as long as we’ve got great company. We’re having fun and we’re getting disappointed. We do great things and fail spectacularly. We’re making bogeys and birdies.
The history of golf is wonderfully well documented and it’s great to relax on the couch with old Youtube movies from the past, where charismatic stars like Arnold Palmer, Nancy Lopez and Severiano Ballesteros give the audience a real thrill. Following the development of the game from when it really started to take off in earnest in the 1950s and onwards, is also an inspiring journey on the catwalk of golf fashion. Big collars, colourful polo shirts and elegant knitted sweaters have inspired designers from then until today, and they often flirt with collections from the past. And still, everything has changed. Performance fabrics have become commonplace, we dress in layers, polo shirts have stylish prints and hoodies are now common on golf courses. When bogeys & birdies were born, the ambition was to embrace everything new, modern and youthful, and work with performance fabrics. At the same time, we wanted to give a nod to the golf fashion of the past by picking up exciting details. The result is a sporty and innovative collection, which is also affordable and appealing to a wide audience with options for players who want that little extra on the course.
Our lifestyle
At Bogeys & Birdies we live and breathe golf, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We don’t mind a quick 18 in the morning and then play another round after lunch before going home to watch Ludvig Åberg or Linn Grant on TV. We would prefer playing in the sunshine with just a slight breeze, but we don’t mind playing windy links courses with precipitation in the air – the weather will rarely or ever prevent us from teeing up.
But to play golf in any weather we need proper clothing. That’s why the collection has everything needed to make the game as comfortable as possible both on sunny summer days and in the wind and cold. Since we see ourselves as golfers both on and off the golf course, clothes from Bogeys & Birdies will work just as well on the course as in the supermarket after the game, or with colleagues in the bar after work. In other words, it is no coincidence that our staff wear Bogeys & Birdies clothing at work in the department store and then go straight to the golf course after their shifts.
