Description
In the i540, PING has saved weight through a lighter and shallower face and a covered cavity. The freed-up weight has been placed as tungsten in the sole of irons 4–7, which lowers the centre of gravity. This gives higher ball speed, a higher launch angle and better stopping power on the green. The forged, variable-thick face in maraging steel is 9% thinner and designed to flex more, including at the transition between the sole and the top line. The result is a metal wood-like effect with increased ball speed and higher maximum height. inR-Air Technology, with an air-filled insert behind the face, improves sound and feel without inhibiting the flex in the face. The TPU material is carefully tested to maintain pressure and performance in different environments. The new i-Beam construction provides extra stability in the club head and further contributes to a solid and comfortable feel at impact.
Optimal Balance, Tungsten weighting in irons 4 to 7 lowers the centre of gravity (CG) in the i540 irons for increased ball speed, a higher trajectory and better stopping power.
InR-Air Technology, An internal air cushion in the i540 iron creates a more appealing sound and a better feel at impact. Complemented with a forged face in maraging steel with variable thickness that’s 9% thinner, it offers more flexibility, higher ball speed, longer shots and a higher maximum ball height.
