August 28-31 marks the Dormy Open on the HotelPlanner Tour at Upsala GK. The Dormy Open is the only men's tournament played at this level in Sweden this year – and an excellent opportunity to watch top-quality golf for people living in the area. Here's everything you need to know!
Entry is free for everyone – making this an excellent opportunity to be inspired by top-quality golf and soak up the golfing atmosphere. A perfect day out with family or friends!
The club's excellent restaurant, Håmö Gård, is open as usual with slightly extended hours. Here, rustic charm meets first-class cuisine. They carefully work with selected ingredients from local suppliers, and their sommelier, Martin, has hand-picked an extensive selection of beers and wines for those looking to enhance their dining experience.
There's also a kiosk on-site selling sandwiches, hot dogs, and ice cream.
Hole 3: A short par-four with a water hazard. A popular favourite often described as the course's most "exciting" hole. Strategy is key as a pond runs along the entire left side.
Hole 9: A par-four back towards the clubhouse. This is a classic spectator spot as it offers excellent views of approach shots.
Hole 10: All holes near the clubhouse typically make for great viewing spots. Hole 10 is a par-three where you can observe the professionals' precision.
Hole 17: It will be exciting to see how players tackle this hole. It's a par-four but only 270 metres long. We're likely to see quite a few drives reaching the green!
Hole 18: The finishing hole, a par-four. Particularly interesting during the weekend, when nerves will likely come into play.
The HotelPlanner Tour, formerly known as the Challenge Tour or European Challenge Tour, is the primary developmental tour below the DP World Tour, where players compete for spots on the main DP World Tour.
From 2025, the tour will be renamed following a new multi-year title partnership with HotelPlanner, marking the first name change since the tour's inception in 1989.
The tour comprises 29 tournaments across 18 countries on three continents, with a prize fund exceeding €9 million and a minimum of €300,000 per tournament in Europe.
